Yes! Revolution was designed to work with your insurance plan to ensure you get the maximum benefit. We believe that since health insurance has become so expensive in the modern era, you should be able to use your plan and benefits to access obesity care. Your visits with us will contribute towards your in-network deductible, which is a financial win for you. If you have already met your deductible for the year, your visits may only cost a nominal copay or coinsurance. You also won’t have to worry about submitting “out of network” insurance paperwork like most weight loss centers require.

We prescribe all FDA-approved weight-loss medications when medically appropriate. After your comprehensive intake visit, your provider will determine whether medication is recommended based on your health history, lab results, and treatment goals.
Our prescribing approach is individualized. When medication is appropriate, we may use options including GLP-1–based therapies, or other oral FDA-approved treatments. All prescriptions are made at the discretion of your provider and only when they are considered safe and clinically indicated.
Medication is just one tool in our comprehensive program, and we combine it with nutrition support, fitness coaching, body composition data, and ongoing medical care so you can achieve sustainable, long-term results.
As a part of the intake process, we will research which medications your insurance plan will cover, and submit any necessary prior authorizations. If your insurance doesn’t cover your preferred medication, we will discuss with you the most cost-effective cash option.
We do not have a strict BMI requirement to become a patient. Weight and metabolic health are deeply personal, and we take a comprehensive approach to determine the best care plan for you.
While BMI is one factor, we also consider ethnicity, body composition data (including lean muscle, fat distribution, and visceral fat), metabolic labs, blood pressure, and other health conditions.
Medication decisions are always made on an individual basis, at the discretion of your provider, and only when medically appropriate and safe.
Any patient age 18 and up is able to register.
Your first intake appointment will be virtual, followed by a second appointment in our office for an exam. Subsequently, we will have monthly virtual medical appointments. If you have reached your goal or maintenance weight, we can space your visits to quarterly.
We strongly feel that our hybrid in person and virtual approach allows for a better provider-patient relationship. We want you to know that your provider is always there for you at every step of your weight loss journey.
In addition, we also have a team of nutrition coaches and fitness trainers, who can meet with you virtually to offer even more lifestyle support.
For a cash only option, our hour long intake appointments are $250, and thirty minute follow up appointments are $150.
We will provide you with an invoice to submit to your plan for out-of-network reimbursement.
HSA/FSA accounts can be used for most aspects of the program as qualified medically necessary expenses, including appointments/copays, and prescription costs. Your HSA/FSA may also cover the monthly membership fee, depending on your benefits administrator.
Any patient residing in the states listed below can join the practice:

Revolution was designed from the ground up to be accessible to everyday individuals. We believe that weight loss and wellness shouldn’t cost an arm and a leg, which is why we decided to be one of the few weight loss centers that accepts insurance. We’ll let your health insurance do the heavy lifting to cover most expenses of the program, including all appointments and health coaching (liable to copay/coinsurance/deductible if required by your plan).
The monthly membership fee covers concierge-level services that are not reimbursable by insurance and/or Medicare, such as unrushed appointments, small provider patient panel sizes, program materials, and concierge support with your provider (email/phone/text).
Yes. Every patient enrolling in the program will have a baseline series of blood tests to assess metabolic health, unless you have already had recent bloodwork done through your PCP. The blood tests will be followed over time to assess progress in the program. Blood pressure monitoring will also be an important metric.
Revolution Medicine recognizes that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to nutrition, and that is why the program is tailored to your needs to help you be the most successful. The program can range from providing personalized meal plans, recipes, and grocery shopping lists for those who like to cook, to a turnkey approach with recommended chef to table fresh meals. As a Revolution member, some of our nutrition partners may be able to offer you exclusive discounts.
Here at Revolution Medicine we recognize that the BMI index is an antiquated formula. It was derived in the early 1800s! Science has come a long way in 200 years, and we have learned that the BMI does not always predict long term health outcomes. We look at many other markers to assess overall metabolic health including blood pressure, heart rate, and cholesterol. We also look for signs of insulin resistance through blood glucose or the hemoglobin A1c, and liver biochemistry. Some adults at an elevated BMI may have normal metabolic markers, and others may not. Abnormal metabolic markers can often predict long term health outcomes better than weight as a single variable.
Our approach is very personalized to an individual, and your weight loss goal is a collaborative discussion. Some adults may also have their own weight loss goals in order to improve their mobility, functionality, exercise capacity, and joint pains. We also agree with the founding principles of the HAES movement in that it is more important to focus on the quality of our food, as opposed to unhealthy calorie restrictive dieting. We work with our patients on an individual basis to customize their overall health goals.
In addition to your monthly virtual appointments with your medical provider, we offer nutrition and fitness coaching which are opt-in. For patients that need extra support and accountability, the health coaching is an excellent resource. You will meet with one of our certified nutrition coaches, and/or certified personal trainers virtually to help customize your program.
The nutrition coaching will involve getting to know your food preferences, likes/dislikes, sensitivities/allergies and your nutrition goals. The coaches will create for you a personalized weekly meal plan with a consolidated grocery shopping list, based on how much time you are able to cook. They will also take into account if you are cooking for others in your home, and the option for leftover meals. In addition, the coaches can offer tips on how to navigate menus at your favorite restaurants.
The fitness coaching will involve our trainers getting to know your strengths, limitations, and fitness goals, and customize an exercise plan for you through our fitness app. You can track and log your workouts, view demonstration videos, and engage with your trainer via the app. You’ll meet with the trainer regularly to discuss your progress, and they will update the program as your fitness increases.
Best of all, both the nutrition and fitness coaching programs are covered by all insurance plans that we accept.
Remote patient monitoring is an exciting tool to actively follow your health metrics from smart devices, such as blood pressure, weight, heart rate, blood sugar, etc. The data is synced to your health record in real time. Medicare and most private insurance companies provide this as a covered service when appropriate. We will verify your insurance coverage upon enrolling to see if we can utilize RPM as a part of your program.
Revolution was designed for the busy working professional. We realize scheduling and travel times can be a barrier to care. This is why we use a technology-based platform to schedule most of your appointments online through telemedicine. If you can spare a 15 minute break at your desk, or away from it, we can have a regular appointment through your computer or smartphone.
Absolutely! The program is well designed for previous bariatric surgery patients to help stay on track. If you are considering a bariatric procedure in the future, we can help you reach your goals before and after surgery, and help coordinate with your bariatric surgeon.
There is absolutely no long term commitment when joining the program. Our practice wants to ensure satisfaction and that you are finding value in the program, and seeing results. However if you find it to not be a good fit for you, you can cancel at any time with no fee or penalty. Feedback to help improve the program is always welcomed.
If you are an active member and wish to cancel, please email info@revolutionmed.com, and we will process your request within 2 business days. We will refund any automated membership charges that take place after your cancellation request, if that were to occur.
